The IEEE South Africa Joint AP/MTT/EMC Chapter was the very first Chapter in South African IEEE Section. The IEEE South Africa Section was established in 1977, and the Chapter in 1986. The Chapter came to the present form, i.e. to include EMC, in 2011.
The Engineering Management Society (EMS) in South Africa was etablished in 1999. The aim of the EMS is to provide members with first-hand knowledge regarding the management of the engineering industry. The EMS as a professional society aims to advance the awarness of the engineering management discipline in general.
